Real Estate: Advanced Google Adwords Strategies For Real Estate Sales Part 14

November 30, 2011

If you want to be very careful about where your ads are displayed, you can create a list of sites and your ads will only be displayed on these sites.  However, it’s not advisable to do this because you’ll be missing out on a ton of perfectly good sites who could drive qualified prospects to you by having your ads on them.  Remember: these ads reach 75% of all internet users in the world.  As of 2011 there are over 2 billion people worldwide using the internet.  So your ads on the Google network can literally potentially be seen by over 1.5 billion people!

A better way of being selective on your ad placement is by selecting the types of sites you want your ads displayed on.  Google provides an extensive list of categories and you can have your ads displayed on any of them.  Obviously you want your site listed in the Real Estate category, but you should also get it listed in the Finance & Insurance category so that your ad will be on mortgage brokers and lender sites.

You can get creative with the types of categories your ads are displayed in.  For instance, let’s say you specialize in luxury homes.  You should allow your ads to get displayed in categories about luxury products or services such as high performance automobiles, boats, jewelry stores – anything wealthy people typically buy.  Perhaps you specialize in working with a particular demographic such as baby boomers who are entering their retirement years now or are already retired.  Many of these ‘snowbirds’ travel south in the winter.  So it makes sense to have your ads on travel related websites to get seen by these types of people, especially during the summer and fall months when these people are making their travel plans.
