A similar site is EzineArticles.com (#51 most visited site in the US).  It’s a matching service between tens of thousands of expert authors and millions of readers & publishers looking for expert solutions to millions of problems.  eHow.com (#39 in the US) is the same type of site as these.

ActiveRain is based in Seattle, WA and has the largest and most active social network in the real estate business for both consumers and real estate professionals.  Currently there are over 190,000 real estate professionals of various types involved in the site, so this is a prime place for building referral relationships with mortgage brokers, real estate lawyers, etc.  There are nearly 7,000 groups for discussing virtually any real estate related topic with people internationally.

In many cases you can focus on your own geographic area and find groups with real estate professionals near you to network with and learn from.  There are literally hundreds of real estate professionals writing blog articles and posting them on ActiveRain, so if you ever need some ideas for new articles to write (or have written) for your blog or website here’s the place to go for inspiration.  Posting articles or article comments here will certainly get you lots of brownie points with search engines.

Making comments on articles can easily be combined with spending time learning about the real estate business.  Discipline yourself to only read real estate related articles and ignore news about world events that is often depressing and will do nothing for you personally or professionally.  With the latest versions of Internet Explore and Mozilla Firefox you can have multiple home pages.  For mine I have about 6 home pages on blogs all related to real estate.  Every time I launch my web browser these pages are refreshed and always have new content.

So make a goal of making at least 2-3 comments per day on real estate related articles from any of the above sources.  It shouldn’t take you more than an hour each day to read a few quality articles and make these comments.  You should be able to find this time now that the summer is over and the real estate market is slowing down.
