If You Live By Referrals Only, Your Business Is Dying By Them Part 5
December 8, 2009
Your website need not be just about real estate. It should look at your farm areas as a whole and the various aspects of them. If you like Indian Food as much as I do, you might write a blog article about how much you enjoyed (or didn’t enjoy) a particular Indian restaurant in the neighborhood. Sometimes someone in the area looking for new restaurant ideas on Google who also happens to be interested in moving soon will find this article of yours. Who says a love of a certain type of food can’t bring people together?
Learning the English language is perhaps the toughest obstacle immigrants from foreign countries have to overcome. Maybe you immigrated to Canada in the past few years and took English As A Second Language classes in your neighborhood and found the teacher exceptional and the school overall a great experience. Why not talk about your experience in your blog? Again, someone looking for ESL classes may find your article, read it, and be very grateful for your advice. Maybe when they first arrived to the country they were renting their home but are now ready to buy. It’s been proven immigrants to Canada have a far greater desire to own their own home than people born here.
Remember, it’s important to understand your target market’s wants and needs aside from real estate and set your website up as a net for capturing these people. When people visit your site, they should feel like they’re taking a guided tour of the area by a professional who’s an expert. If they do, they’ll probably consider working with you.
Think of when people go on vacations. Some prefer to explore the destination on their own while others prefer guided tours. Those who prefer guided tours don’t just pick anybody to do it. They’ll pick a company who does tours with destinations that interest them (eg. visiting specific types of tourist attractions that interest them such as museums – think of the Louvre in France). The tour company might recognize that senior citizens typically like to visit certain sites but not others, so they’ll plan their seniors tour accordingly so it will appeal to seniors and make them want to buy it. You are very much like a local tour guide for your neighborhood.
Remember when I said earlier that the top 10% of real estate professionals know a few critical things that the mediocre 80% don’t, and these things are really why they’re so successful? Here’s another one of those things the top 10% know:
“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.” – Dale Carnegie
So get online and get yourself a top-notch real estate website that will get you noticed. Moneymaker is my turn-key website for real professionals. Try it free for 30 days!
