Why Squeeze Pages Generate More Leads Than Online Listing Ads Part 2
September 28, 2009
Don’t make squeeze pages for common, easily found information (eg. mortgage rates) because few people will join a mailing list for this info when they can readily find it elsewhere. You should make squeeze pages on your specific farm neighborhoods and any neighborhoods nearby. Make one squeeze page for each neighborhood. You could focus even more and have a squeeze page for specific types of properties in each neighborhood. Have a squeeze page on a listing offering them a link to a virtual tour if they sign up. Be creative!
The Power Of Squeeze Pages And Craig’s List
Having a steady presence on very popular classifieds sites like Craig’s List and Kijiji is a great short cut to getting your website search engine optimized. SEO for your real estate website takes months to achieve and costs you money, whereas these classified sites are getting loads and loads of traffic right now and it’s free to post your ads on them. Craig’s List gets fifty million unique visitors in the US and over twenty billion page views per month.
In previous articles I’ve talked about how Craig’s List tries to prevent people from posting a lot of ads. Fortunately, squeeze pages by nature bypass most of the automated means they use of preventing ad reposting. One way Craig’s List identifies duplicate ads is through URLs. If the site sees you are repeatedly using your website domain (IE www.yoursite.com) within ads, it will start blocking new ad posts. The best way around this is having a different domain for each squeeze page. For instance, you could have the following domain names each hosting a single, unique squeeze page:
- Toronto-Foreclosure-Properties.info
- Leaside-Condos.info
- Liberty-Village-Condos.info
- Luxury-Toronto-Condos.info
- Million-Dollar-Plus-Etobicoke-Homes.info
Today, domain names can be bought very cheaply. Godaddy.com currently has a sale on for $1.99 domains with no quantity limit. In doing a bulk domain registration you can save further by finding a promo code online for that domain registrar.
Another way Craig’s List identifies ad reposts is by the text you use in your ad title and body. You can avoid their sensors by varying what you input for the title and the location for the listing. You can avoid them noticing keyword repetition in the body of your ad by creating your ad in a graphic design program or a template and then saving your ad as an image file and posting only the image with little or no text in the ad.
