Making Your Website Reflect Your Target Market

Business peopleThe more your real estate website reflects your target market, the more interesting it’ll be to people who want to buy or sell a home in this area.  It’ll also do wonders for getting your website high ranking in Google for people searching for homes in these neighborhoods.  So here are things you can have on your website about your farm neighborhoods.

History

Your farm neighborhoods often have a rich and colorful history.  If the area has older homes, it’s interesting to know information about how and when they were built and by whom.  Find out how each street in the neighborhood got its name.  List a chronology of important events in the area since its beginning.  Lots of historical information on your local neighborhoods should be readily available on the web or at the local library.

Schools

Many people will want to know the quality of education available in a neighborhood, so have listings of the various schools in the area (public and private).  You could also include local tutors and other private instructors.

Community Resources

Make a list of parks, community centres, recreation centres, libraries, hospitals, health practitioners, pharmacies, government offices, and so on.

Local Businesses

Include information on some of the local businesses in your farm neighborhoods.  Are there any offering something unique and noteworthy?  Your community newspaper should have lots of articles on local businesses and entrepreneurs you can use.

Public Transit

If your neighborhood is in or near an urban core, many people may not have vehicles, and so the quality of the public transit is a big factor for them.  Provide information on train, subway, bus and street car routes, especially how late and how frequently they operate.

Entertainment

If someone wants to have a night on the town in your neighborhood, make your website be their guide.  Have a bulletin board for upcoming attractions like plays, movies, bands, dance clubs, festivals, etc.  List the local fine dining establishments, cafes and bars.  You may even be able to get some of these businesses to advertise on your website.

Ethnic Makeup

There may be a considerable number of immigrants from a particular country in your farm neighborhoods.  If there are, have resources on your website specifically for these people.  Note any ethnic establishments in the area: restaurants, book stores, delicatessens or other ethnic shops in the area.  Consider having your website available in these immigrant’s first language as well.

Notable Residents

Note anyone famous or notable who lives in the neighborhood, or has lived there in the past.
